This is the privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") of Snipabout iOS App, and Android App.  It describes how Snipabout.com (“Snipabout” "We," "Us" or "Our") handles Personal Information (as defined below) that users ("You," "Your” or "User") provide to Us, or that We collect from You through the use of Our Website, which is located at snipabout.com and through the iOS App and the Android App (“snipabout App” or “App”).

 

This Privacy Policy is subject to our Terms of Service. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, as specified in the “Changes to This Privacy Policy” section below. 

 

Your Consent

You should read this entire Privacy Policy before submitting information to us or using our Websites or App. Whenever You submit personal and non-personal information via our Websites or App or otherwise to us, You consent to the collection, use disclosure, transfer, and storage of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. 

Non-Personal Information

Snipabout collects non-personal information of the sort that web browsers,servers and phone manufacturers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, make and model, operating system and the date and time of each visitor request. Snipabout’s purpose in collecting non-personal information is to better understand how visitors use its Websites and Apps. From time to time, we may release non-Personal Information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its Websites and Apps. 

Personal Information

"Personal Information" means information such as Your first/middle initial or name, last name, e-mail address, street address, mailing address if different, town or city, state, zip code, telephone number, profile photograph, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, credit card information, and any other information that could allow someone to identify You or contact You. 

Snipabout does not disclose Personal Information other than as disclosed below. 

The Personal Information We Collect

Currently, Snipabout does not require you to create an account in order to use our iOS or Android app or provide any personal information. 

When You choose to subscribe to our mailing list via our Website we do request your name and email details. 

When you open our App We may collect Your User ID, Your latitude and longitude, the date and time You have opened the App and Your time zone. We also collect the history of your interaction with the App, such as and not limited to the User Preferences, information you have been exposed to via the App, alerts you received from the App, and latitude and longitude information. Snipabout may also collect your latitude and longitude in formation while in the background. Snipabout collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of Your interaction with it and the App interaction with You. Snipabout does not disclose Personal Information other than as described below. 

 

Snipabout Beta Testing

Snipabout is conducting beta test to evaluate and assure the readiness of the App to a broader usage. During the Beta testing, and following it, We are using third party tools to collect user information and activity log. 

When you install the App you accept to become a  Snipabout tester, and by doing so accept also the terms of use and privacy policy of any test beta apps (such as TestFlight of Apple but not excluded to it) when applicable. Such beta test apps may collect and send crash logs, your personal information such as name and email address, usage information, and any feedback you submit to the developer. 

With respect to TestFlight,Information that is emailed to the developer directly is not shared with Apple. The developer is permitted to use this information only to improve their App and is not permitted to share it with a third party. Apple may use this information to improve the TestFlight app.

Apple retains TestFlight data for one year. To view and manage your data with Apple, including your data that is sent to Apple through TestFlight, visit Data and Privacy.

The following data is collected by Apple and shared with the developer when you use TestFlight. If you accepted an invitation through a public link only, your email address, name, invitation status, numbers of time you have installed the app, numbers of sessions and numbers of time the App has crashed. 

When you send feedback from the TestFlight app or send crashes or screenshots from the beta app, the following additional information is shared. If your device is running iOS 12.4 or earlier, this information is only shared with the developer. If your device is running iOS 13 or later or later, this information is collected by Apple and shared with developers. This data is retained by Apple for one year.

The model of your device, iOS version, language, carrier, timezone, connection type, paired apple watch if exist, screenshot, comments, App uptime, Disk free, screen resolution, battery condition and crash log. If you do not accept your email invitation, the beta app will not be installed and you will not be listed as a tester, and Apple will not take any action with respect to your email address. Additionally, you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of the invitation email to notify the developer that you’d like to be removed from their list. If you accepted the invitation and no longer wish to test the app, you can delete yourself as a tester in the app’s Information page in TestFlight by tapping Stop Testing.

 

How We Use Personal Information

We may use the Personal Information that You provide in order to deliver the Snipabout Services. i.e. locate relevant information around you and suggest it to you. 

 

We do not disclose and/or share you personal information with any third party. We do not share Your Personal Information data with any parties for marketing or commercial purposes. However, we do reserve the right to change our policy and terms, and share such Personal Information for commercial and marketing purposes or other purposes as we may find fit in the future. 

 

Personal Information associated with users’ registration (IP address, device etc.) is shared with Snipabout employees, consultants, partners and other entities as neededthat (i) need to know that information in order to work on the Snipabout Product and enhance its offer, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others.

We may share public and non-public location data with trusted data partners. 

 

Our infrastructure is hosted by Google. We use Google Maps to display geographic content and Firebase as our main database. We also use several analytical tools which may collect your personal information as described by their terms of use and policies. 

Our Website is built on the WIX platform and is connected to Google Analytics. 

 

Other than to its employees, partners, consultants and other entities as needed, as described above, Snipabout discloses Personal Information only when required to do so by law

  • If We are compelled to do so by a governmental agency, court, or other entity (e.g., to respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process);

  • If We believe Your actions violate a law, regulation, this Privacy Policy, or any applicable website or app's terms of use, or if You threaten the rights, property or safety of Us, Our Websites, Our Apps, any other Users, or third party;

  • If, in Our sole discretion, We believe disclosure is necessary to investigate or resolve possible problems or inquiries, to protect Our assets, to defend Our interests or comply with Our legal and regulatory obligations; or to protect a User's safety;

  • If there is a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, transfer of control, joint venture or other business combination involving Snipabout

If You have subscribed to our Website and have supplied Your email address, We may occasionally send You an email to tell You about new features, solicit Your feedback, or just keep You up to date with what's going on with Snipabout. 

 

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If You are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), Snipabout’s legal basis for collecting and using the Personal Information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Information We collect and the specific context in which We collect it. In addition, We process Personal Information with the principle of data minimization in mind. This means that We limit ourselves to the minimum amount of personal information which is needed to achieve the particular purpose for which We process the Personal Information. Below are some examples of the purposes for which Personal Information may be processed. 

Snipabout may process Your Personal Information because: 

  • The processing is necessary to provide the services and features You have requested

  • The processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of our users or of others

  • The processing is necessary to perform a contract with You

  • You have provided consent for Us to do so.

How We Retain Personal Information

Personal information associated with your activity with the App, such as alerts your received, Snips you have been exposed to, places you have visited and other information collected by the App (time, date, location, etc.) may remain in our DB associated to an anonymous user, attached to a Snip, or any other way, even after You have decided to delete the App from your machine. If You provided Us with Your name, email address or any such information, You may request to remove Your name, email address, and such Personal Information from our DB. Your activity and interactions with the App may still be retained by Us. 

Children

We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from children or knowingly allow children to purchase goods or memberships through Our Websites and Apps. Visitors 12 years of age and younger must obtain an adult's permission before submitting any Personal Information to our Websites or Apps. In the event that We learn that We have received any Personal Information from a visitor 12 years of age or younger, and We do not receive parental permission within a reasonable period of time of Our request for it, We will delete that information as quickly as possible. 

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Snipabout do not use Cookies at the moment. 

How We Protect Your Personal Information

We are committed to protecting the Personal Information You share with Us through the use of our App. Unfortunately, We cannot guarantee that data transmitted over the Internet will always be secure. As a result, although We strive to protect Your Personal Information, We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information You transmit or We may learn as a result of Your use of Snipabout and You do so at Your own risk. If, for any reason, You do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use Snipabout services, features or functions that might require You to provide Your Personal Information. 

 

Privacy Policy Changes

Snipabout may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Snipabout sole discretion. We will post an updated and revised version of this Privacy Policy on the Snipabout Websites when any material changes have been made, and Snipabout encourages visitors to check this Privacy Policy often so You are aware of the most current terms and conditions that apply to You. The revisions are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute Your acceptance of such change.
